The newly added codex details are great, but it'd be even better if we had the ability to designate certain fields as POV-only, meaning they'd only be included in the AI context when the scene has a matching POV. Particularly useful for stories that hop around between different POVs a lot (his/her stories etc), this would allow user to more easily ensure that the AI is fed only the context that is relevant for the current scene, while keeping it all in the same place for the user themselves and avoiding errors from mistagging/forgetfulness. While I could have two separate codex entries for a character depending on if they're the POV or not, that would essentially force you to use manual tagging to scene, else a simple mention might pull in the wrong entry (a problem only compounded by aliases).
Potential use cases include but are not limited to:
Writing styles
  • The POV often has significant impact on the writing style. Some characters are cocky and terse, paying little attention to anything that doesn't interest them, while others are more contemplative and might have significantly expanded environmental descriptions in comparison.
Secrets
  • Characters might have secrets/information that are only relevant when you're showing their POV.
The simple version (characters only):
Only supported for character codex entries. A simple checkbox that designates the detail as POV-only, matching directly to itself with no additional selection, including the detail to the AI context when the character itself is the POV.
Complex version:
A selection menu akin to the scene POV selection where you can designate a specific character as the POV target. When the selected character is the POV for the scene, the detail will be included to the AI context. This would allow you do limit information not only about the characters, but about other types like locations and organizations as well.
Bonus: Ability to
exclude
a detail for a specific POV? More of a niche case however.
