Chat with a fragment of text as a context

I'd like to be able to select some text and choose 'chat with the fragment'. This action should create a new chat where the context of the chat would be the selected fragment. The reason for this is sometimes I need to consult AI for some ideas related to a small fragment of the text only - not the entire chapter. It would be more cost-effective and would give us unique opportunities, like asking question how to phrase it better ( a few alternatives - not just a simple rewrite). Of course, when custom in-text prompts are here, they could be used for this: I would select the text, choose 'chat', put my prompt into a box (or something) and then got my answers. The question is where would they go? I suggest the chat.

Chat with Selection

I often find myself wanting to chat with just a selection or paragraph. Say, for example, I want to brainstorm with a character different reactions, dialogue, etc., but only for that one small section.
Apologies if this is already possible and I haven't found it yet.

Nope this would be very cool, in addition not linking the Selections with Scene/chapter Ai exclusion would be helpful.

I agree. I would like to be able to simply select text, then rather than use/create a specific prompt, perhaps have option to open a small popup window to chat with AI about that selection. And as per coreyostman suggestion below, I would rather not have to send it to the chat section but simply chat there and then in the write section.

Interesting! So unlike a free form "rewrite" in the manuscript where you select a block of text, a little text box appears and you type "make this description more vivid" you're thinking of an additional feature where you select text and click a button that says something like "send to chat" am I correct?
Would you expect the new chat thread to immediately reply? I'm assuming no because you haven't told it what you wanted to chat about.

coreyostman I imagined that the input field for the first user prompt in the chat would appear, with some indication that the selected text was already set as context.
