Hyperlinks in the manuscript (for non-fiction project)

I'm considering using NC to write a non-fiction work. What's stopping me, however, which I just presumed was a feature, is the ability to create standard inline hyperlinks. But alas, I see no way to create a simple hyperlink in the manuscript editor.

P.S. Apparently (from "Basic [39k 14k]"), markdown syntax can't be used as export to markdown escapes the brackets.

I'd like to be able to add web links in writing mode/prose. Cmd-K is the generally accepted standard keyboard shortcut.
I realize that doesn't really make sense for a normal printed "novel," but if I'm writing something that will be published online, it sure does make sense to be able to have links.

PLEASE add this feature. I'm writing an interactive e-book and this inability is greatly hampering my efforts.

Will have to see how easy this is.

spaceemotion - thanks, appreciate it. I'm sure it's a piece of cake, a five-minute job. (Fingers crossed.)
