I would love to see an aesthetic progress bar for word count tracking somewhere visible while we draft. Something to motivate and encourage to keep on working and complete writing goals. Maybe word count goals + progress tracker per scene, chapter novel and series? That would be really amazing and I'd be forever grateful for this!

It would be really useful to have the words per day added/subtracted in a project progress tracker. Since NC already tracks words per chapter, would this be a difficult feature to add?

It's not just motivational either. I use word tracking to figure out where I am in my draft (30%? 50%?) so I can make sure the pace is correct and I'm hitting the right beats at the right time. Super important!

Came to second this (or 87th it?) - in particular to add that one thing I love about Scrivener is that I can see my progress broken down by day, so even if I forget to log my words on one day, I can still go back and see what I wrote on any given day over the course of one project.
